I’m scared about the possibility of unlivable spaces on the planet and of permanent change.
I live in DC, and so I'm constantly immersed in politics. I’m astounded that politicians don’t discuss climate change, even as a short talking point. And that absence of hearing about climate change is kind of what made me act.
We're the first generation to really know that we'll feel the repercussions of climate change, and we're also kind of the last generation that'll have a really good shot at fixing, stalling or helping to stop climate change.
But to really live sustainably, there will have to be a lot of societal changes. And if there's a whole generation that's willing to make those societal changes, then you have a much greater chance of being able to live sustainably—not just for right now but for generations to come.
I strike because the lives of my generation and our descendants are on the line.
