Demand Organic Cotton
100% of the virgin cotton in our clothes is grown organically. Less than 1% of cotton grown worldwide is organic.
If the clothing industry switched to organic cotton, we could improve the quality of soil, use less water and reduce emissions.
Demand Recycled
64% of our fabrics this season are made with recycled materials. Less than 10% of fibres produced globally are made with recycled materials.
If more companies used recycled materials, we could all reduce our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source.
Demand Regenerative Organic Certified™
We are investing in more than 550 organic cotton farms working toward Regenerative Organic Certified™. Less than 1% of cotton grown worldwide is organic.
If more companies supported farmers becoming Regenerative Organic Certified™, we could help farmers and their land be more resilient to the impacts of climate change.
Demand Fair Trade
82% of our line is Fair Trade Certified™ sewn. That’s more Fair Trade styles than any other apparel brand.
If more companies joined the Fair Trade movement, we could positively impact hundred of thousands of workers worldwide.
Demand Hemp
This season, we use hemp in 37 of our product styles. Hemp currently makes up less than 0.1% of the global fibre market.
If the clothing industry used more hemp, we could extract less petroleum, use less synthetic fertilizer and improve the quality of soil.
Demand Yulex® Natural Rubber
100% of our wetsuits are made with FSC®-certified natural rubber. Less than half of the rubber produced worldwide is natural.
If more companies used natural rubber, we could all reduce our need for petroleum as a raw material source.
Demand Global Traceable Down
100% of the virgin down in our products is certified to the Global Traceable Down Standard (TDS). No other outdoor clothing company uses only certified Global TDS material for its virgin down.
If more companies used TDS-certified down, we could help put in place protections from forced feeding and live plucking for more birds in the down supply chain.
Demand Responsible Wool Standard
We require all of our wool to be certified to the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS). Less than 1% of wool used globally is RWS-certified.
If more companies used RWS-certified wool, we could encourage demand for better animal welfare practices and responsible land management.
Demand Repairable
We repaired over 56,000 garments last year. 11.2 million tons of textiles ended up in landfills in 2017.
If more companies offered repairs, we could all extend the life of our clothing and keep gear out of landfills.
Demand Quality
100% of the products that we make are backed by our Ironclad Guarantee. Worldwide, in the last 15 years the average number of times a garment is worn before it’s discarded decreased by 36%.
If the clothing industry prioritized durability, we would consume less energy, waste less water and create less trash.
